AJAX, JSON and help BISON bandwidth

In the great times we're living, the web undergoes a quiet revolution and yet crucial to the realm of "user experience": web applications have in fact now more than ever to significantly reduce the bandwidth used . But

beneath a technical aspect of Web 2.0 is anything but a geek problem:
- for the user, the less data to transit means better application responsiveness to its actions.
- the financial, less bandwidth will decrease which can be significant cost structure ... especially in the case of a scalability, rapid application.

How concretely effected this reduction in consumption?
- In the past, it was Ajax who made it possible to save complete page reloads every time the server calls are necessary.
- Today is JSON (if it is used) which reduces significantly the size of the responses returned by the server after an AJAX request.
- Tomorrow it might be something like BISON (which is an experiment) on one hand and client storage massive other that will optimize it a bit greater the flow of information passing between server and client.
